Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Uptown Charlotte location?

Hi, interviewing for some corporate positions with US Bank in uptown Charlotte location. Just wondering what the workplace culture is like. I'd be coming over from a nearby competitor, so not sure if the grass is greener at US Bank, or if it's more the same.

I am in the exact same situation. I have been sending messages to complete strangers on linked in asking as well. Thank you for the question. It is a big decision.

US Bank is still cutting cost. If you read the news, they have regulatory issues and capital issues. They still owe MUFG almost $4B from the sale of UB. It’s a clique. All they care about is their cost efficiency ratio. So prepare to do without. They build little and buy and integrate a lot. Very bad leaders and managers.

You will fit right in if you are not xx or xo. If you are one of the other thousands of genders, you'll do great!

Not what it once was. Current leadership has become disconnected as many of the managers who drove the culture have left. Green grass is painted-on. The culture has become cliques and the large Union Bank acquisition hasn't helped.

The Charlotte office has been an issue for many of us. We've tried gaining access but badges and communication has been non-existent. They told us they're scouting a new location, but that was announced in February and no updates since. I think the culture, at least in UX, is pretty healthy compared to other banks I've worked for.

Ask specific questions about the incentive plan that is a large part of the recruiting conversation. In reality, it is rarely fully funded and does not pay out. This year's funding is just 72%.
Medical coverage is awful, high deductible plan through United Health Group (a USB client-reciprocity that benefits both companies but not the employees)
Good thinking to reach out on this forum for the employee story!
