No, not part of platform engineering. Best of luck with whatever decision you make!
Sorry to hear about the losses in your group! Sounds like some good people were let go. Are you a part of platform engineering? I was thinking of joining but now doesn't seem like a good time.
I can confirm that it’s not just low performers, at least where my area was concerned. We lost some of the hardest working, knowledgeable, ethical and genuinely kind people I’ve ever worked with (management on down). I’m assuming there was a number that needed met and these folks salary did it. It would have made much more sense to start with the low performers, as this was a huge loss for my department and will be extremely difficult to overcome.
Is it mainly low performers who are getting laid off or is more team based?
They never release # of people they let go.
About how many have been affected in platform product and engineering?
More layoffs today in platform product and engineering
What kind of severance packages are they giving?
I got hit in Product Management. I’ve been with FIS a long time. They bring in outside leadership who have no idea how to operate. I feel bad for the clients and my colleagues who won’t have the information and background that I had garnered over the years. I guess it’s all about bolstering the stock price, who cares about the clients.
Which teams have been most affected?
I think all Eng departments got effected
Anybody know which departments/teams were impacted?
right in the middle of a major implementation, with folks onsite with the client, our Dev Lead got cut!!
Tbey fired our entire team from vp to mangers
Happy Thanksgiving guys.. FIS likes to do their hits right before a holiday for some reason. Gotta make those numbers right?… But definitely happening throughout this week.
I think layoff is already done but only in small quantities so it won’t get public attention and they might do it in December too
40%?? I don't think so. Unless you consider spinning off WP employees next year a layoff.
Global
40% of all FIS employees in the US?
