Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

Learning Day

If you haven’t read the story about Learning and Development, save yourself a few minutes and don’t bother. Nothing in it bears any resemblance to the way things really are in that group.
Training was barely adequate before BT and now it has to be the worst team in the company bar none.

Those young g-ns will work just for a cardboard cutout posting on LinkedIn facegram snap tok. 2% raise on their salary is 1/4 the raise of a seasoned veteran.

Yes you are correct. Train (brainwash) the young moldable minds. Us old timers are just put out to pasture.

I read the article. It seems L and D is going to train just engineers. Is that correct?

When McKinsey says jump they just ask how high.
Then they wonder why they have no workable business model that is falling apart at the seams.

They put on these dog and pony shows and act like they're actually accomplishing something and every time they just end up looking foolish. The leadership of L and D are rank amateurs and utterly buffoonish.
If it wasn't who it is, I'd feel sorry for them. Bless their hearts.

I saw a deluge of self aggrandizing posts on LinkedIn, stupid cardboard picture frame and all. Keep in mind, we fund this uselessness while offshoring employees with real skills. FFS, we’re essentially a company of teen tik tok girls. Yay!

L and D leadership leaving something to be desired doesn’t begin to describe the poor leadership at the top of that department.

L and D has some good employees but it’s leadership, well let’s just say it leaves something to be desired.

No one needs training if we just rely on the same minority of employees for knowledge?
