Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Illuminate Today

Is anyone watching this? It seems so disconnected from the pressure of the work we have to do. In the few minutes I've had it playing in the background while working on numerous Powerpoints, prep for performance reviews, juggling meetings to be able to enjoy Thanksgiving (US) but the bosses expect them until Wednesday night and beginning again Monday morning to meet unrealistic deadlines and most proposals will end up not being supported .... yes the whining is real. I long for a role where being Illuminated is supported by our Leadership. Now - back to work!

I've never had time to listen in or participate in Illuminate. Too many interruptions on Teams and too much work to do to be able to concentrate on Illuminate or gain any value from it.

It’s real. This is the reality of the lay off culture. Leaders who sit on the outside push down the “we need to prove our value” by putting together power points and having a ton more meetings to “strategize” all while taking time and effort away from doing the real work.

Those charged with doing the decks with short turn times are under pressure to perform because they don’t want to get laid off. It’s a vicious circle. It’s real.
