Why is this even a post... you are offended for showing your ID card? What kind of world do we live in. I do not think its that bad to show your ID card while you need to show ID to purchase alcohol and take a flight.....
I was surprised to be asked to show Id when entering 240G on Thursday ( back to after effect of the 9/11 and occupation Wall Street days) and then on Friday the protestors were out front trying to block entrances. I got a late email on Thursday saying protests but it was pretty vague. No location or times. On Friday when entering it was a blast to see NYPD, BNY Security and pro Palestine protesters out front. Seeing signs BNYM supports genocide was a shock. Most employees coming in just need the swipe. To be honest we have no decision in the bank’s investments that may be in support of defense tech being used in Gaza. As usual the bank was slow in alerting employees and being fully prepared. The morning fiasco was shut down by 10am with the presence of NYPD. Hopefully we don’t have more protesters next week.
The protesters are outside and inside the building now, just saw it on the news.
At all times, security ID should be visible whilst in the office and shown to security personnel if requested. This measure ensures that only people who are authorized to enter can do so — ref: PACS, Physical Access Control System.
i have never been asked and i never pull it out voluntarily when i walk in. im sure its temporary
Compared to Citi and GS perimeter and lobby security ours is tame. Walk over there one time and see.
They always used to do that. It was always a visual check then a turnstile swipe.
Seemed redundant but 5e building is near Ground Zero.
Apparently there are protests scheduled to happen around the area. Thanks for alerting us BNY before we came in!
