Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Failed leadership

With the level of verbal abuse, retaliation, unethical practices and old-school leadership I expect all who don’t join their train will be let go. I know many hoping they will be let go with a package of any sort…

Hello curious, Shama Sarada is unethical and unprofessional to say the least. Shama got this far in the profession because of her "closeness" to Shadman Zafar and not because of any work related competencies. Shadman sidestepped several HR investigations/concerns to protect Shama until people started writing here when Shadman to protect his job had to fire Shama at Citi. To avoid Shama spilling the beans, Shadman got her a job in Chase. Most possibly Shama's hiring manager in Chase would be Shadman's cronie as well. No one will hire Shama based on merit or character. Both of these are below the line. Shadman has done this for his other "close" associates as well. Shafiq Kassam was another person who left after a HR investigation and Shadman got him a job in TIAA.

Hello people, Now that Shadman is leaving Citi, Shadman and his cronies are trying to find out who wrote these and they are trying to follow / tail as necessary to identify the source with they suspecting some in their own minds. Just watch your back , unknown contacts reaching out to you in social media or anywhere else, people tailing you in public places. These guys have done this before . Watch your back and stay away from the cronies at work. They are known to do anything to satisfy their needs.

Hi Shama Sarada has joined JPMChase as a Program Management executive within the GT COO - what should I expect from her leadership style…?

Its common. There’s a problem, take the cheap route. Hope someone else will fix it. Over time, surely someone somewhere will come up with something to ‘fix the problem’.

Maybe their management still is from their culture, so that makes it ok and any complaints are null and void.

if OCC investigates all the investigations that have happened on Shadman and his cronies, Anand, Shadman and several others would be barred from banking industry. Shadman has demonstrated every action that is defined "unethical" as per code of conduct.

There’s a comment on this thread saying HR & Ethics escalations are covered up.
Is this really true?
I don’t think I could cope if so, but I have seen so much horrendous behaviour in Citi at this stage, I can understand how it might be true.

My manager doesnt defend me and oversea team just assigns me items and my work gets out of control this way. Basically bypassing my manager. I try to cc in emails threads so he can see and he just ignores it. On top of that he wants me to work harder and give me his own task. He is out of sync of what i am doing and causes him to think I am performing poorly

The MotherFvcker, SZ was a co-host for the Citi Generative AI Conference this week. ROTFLMFAO! Only Citi would have an Incompetent, Low caliber Dodo Bird "work" in technology. Remember, Dodo Birds are extinct.

Shadman Zafar since the time he joined has made Citi his friends and family show. Many HR and ethics investigations have been covered up between Shadman and Anand with no disciplinary action on Shadman till date. HR and Legal have no authority. Unless the problem is fixed at the source, no problem can ever be fixed. Citi's leadership lacks backbone to take bold decisions or do the right thing.

Verbal abuse and retaliation? Do we work at the same bank? Never had any issues beyond an ego here or there. Never anything abusive. Everyone’s always been pretty nice that I’ve worked with here.

Shama Sarada and her direct reports is just the tip of the iceberg…and when directors are reported for offenses that would have gotten them fired in other organizations they are just moved to another part of the company. The list is too long to name them all…
