Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

11-15 2023. Layoff confirmed.

Nov 15 2023, director in my unit stated a reduction in workforce happened across the business. In our unit people received a Teams meeting titled Business Update informing them of their termination. 7 people in my unit.

Always right before Thanksgiving. Very sad indeed. And right after they tell the employees how well the business is doing.

The layoffs were those with 20+ years in. some close to retirement age. Meanwhile open positions are posted in Manila.

The layoffs were in “high cost locations”. They want everyone in places like Mexico, Poland and India.

That's sad. Apparently, this is not the end. There are going to be more layoffs on Nov 27 & 28. Saw this in other threads around more layoffs on this platform.
