I have a feeling that prolonged layoffs are a way to destroy morale, create a toxic environment, and have us quit on our own. Unless you absolutely have to, please don't give them that satisfaction. If they want me gone, I'm sure as he-l going to have them pay me to leave rather than just walk away on my own.

Citi can not afford to pay competitive salaries on par with JpmorganChase, Goldman or Morgan Stanley because Citi is Not profitable. It's barely surviving like Wells Fargo, another dog "bank".
Traits, attributes, skills and knowledge cost money that Citi can Not afford to pay. Hence, Citi gets Only mediocre/average to below average employees who will accept less money. This causes a domino effect with operations, work, efficiencies or lack of efficiences, etc..
I both agree and disagree.
Citi acts like its competitive on pay and benefits and they are not.
They are anywhere from below average to average. They post a position and find a great candidate but can’t meet the salary requirements so they leave the position opened longer to find someone cheaper. Not better but cheaper. Meh……
Start looking now and take whatever you find that’s better and move on with your life.
Y’all are very conspiratorial.
Citi is restructuring. They aren’t purposely torturing you. Being “comfortable with ambiguity” is one of the key traits they look for in employees for a reason
I 1000% agree I was at citi over 30 years I knew they wanted me to quit three years ago. I waited them out and was laid off this year I got my years severance, warn and retirement benefits. I actually told my manager I wasn’t going anywhere when we had disagreements three years ago
U should only quit if you have another job, and even then you are taking a chance as you don’t know if they’ll let you off either
save all the money you’re making now and between that severance, WARN pay and unemployment hopefully you’ll be good for a while let citi pay u for all of your years of service
