You're not saving anyone's job. Citi said they were not taking volunteers and it is not right to ask people to give up their severance. It would be a nice thought if they had incentives.
Citi specifically said they are not taking volunteers for this layoff during one of the town halls. It’s a good thought but it isn’t an option.
You might end up saving somebody else's job in the process.
