I don't take the lack of layoffs in December as a kindness or some kind of a Christmas miracle. I highly doubt that's how it was meant. I just take it as another full month of having to stress and worry and see my blood pressure go up and up. If they wanted to extend us kindness, they'd get it over with right now. As simple as that.

But i thought Citi was my friend. Since returning to the office, we have talked alot about crickett for example at the water cooler. I made some good connections and now ....
I’ve been through many layoffs. This one feels like psychological warfare. I think they’re hoping most quit, saving Citi a cr-p ton on severance packages.
It's time for you to grow up. Is this your first job out of college? Employers are cruel, cold, callous, mean, have No soul and are evil. I've witnessed Employers layoff people on cancer medical leave or other serious illness, or while the employees are on vacation. My MD Manager was laidoff while on vacation.
They don’t know yet. So they can’t tell you yet.
Connecting the dots. Over 300 senior managers cut according to media. That will trickle down to many teams.
Not trying to go political but there is a big divide between those making decisions and everyone else. Next election think about who are u voting for. Unions would provide some protection. Not knowing for 2-3 months will be hard. It will impact many personal plans like buying a house, buying a car, taking trips, etc
Time to grow up. Of course they don't care. You are a number amongst 240k.
Did you think you were special?
Unfortunately, the powers at be don't really care. It's sad but true. It's about the 'needs of the business' and blah blah blah. This day is totally shot. It's super hard to focus. Additionally, the zillion meaningless emails/IMs and meetings with people desperately of showing they are working value doesn't help. They just want us to keep on working like busy worker bees. Lol
