Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Looks like JB could be gone before we are!

Anyone who thinks it's a good business model to continue to pay out millions in dividends quarter after quarter (and borrowing money to do so) from a company with a 4-1 debt ration needs to turn in their business degree. The board continues to approve because they are top dividend receivers.

Looks like I'm not the only one that thinks that: Elliott believes Crown Castle (CCI) needs new executive and board leadership, according to a letter the activist wrote to the board on Monday. The activist wants CCI to review its fiber business and evaluate if CCI is the best owner of the fiber unit.

"Crown Castle suffers from a profound lack of oversight by the Board, which has contributed to its irresponsible stewardship and flawed financial policy," Elliott managing partners Jesse Cohn and Jason Genrich wrote in a letter to Crown Castle's board on Monday. "The Company's strategy, led by CEO Jay Brown since 2016, has been a failure, as demonstrated by the breathtaking magnitude of its underperformance."

Jay hasn't been heard from in any meaningful way in years. He's probably a robot that LN had built.

I am over here waiting patiently for the fiber people who drink the purple kool aid every single day to comment. It is important to note, I am in fiber at Crown. The dumpster fire that is Crown’s fiber business has been on clear display for all to see for years. However, people fall on the sword on this site for Crown fiber. Also, I am not saying tower was a beacon of operational / financial perfection. Tower had a whole other set of issues. Crown is a complete disaster. We have been headed that way for years now. It doesn’t matter what side of the business you are on, we are all impacted. If you don’t see it and don’t recognize none of us are immune then all I can say is….bless your heart.

Where is JB? The last time Elliott pounded their chest, JB responded almost immediately. Now he’s nowhere to be found. Isn’t a leader supposed to reassure his people that we are moving in a purposeful direction?

Feels good to see seasoned investors put what everyone with a brain at Crown has been saying for years into a presentation. The numbers don't lie but JB does

Great to see some serious, well-deserved criticism from outside the Castle walls. Employees have been aware of the EMT/Board mismanagement for sometime with all of the questionable moves that have been made. EMT, get your golden parachutes ready for deployment!

It has become obvious that management makes decisions focused on personal wallets not the business. Even the whole Houston move is to keep it all in their own backyard.
