Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Some questions that remain unanswered for those laid off

  1. Do we actually need to sign the DocuSign termination letter? It seems to be a simple notice using the DocuSign system.
  2. If we get another job offer during the WARN period, do we need to give notice to Broadcom, or just let it end on Jan 26?
  3. When do the UK employees find out their fate?
  4. For terminated employees with RSUs vesting on Dec 1, will these move to Fidelity? Any action needed here?
  5. Is Michael Dell happy now?

It shouldn’t be a question as to if someone should tell BC/VMware that they are starting a new job after they are laid off. Don’t tell them anything. Collect your severance, keep your mouth shut and start your new job anytime. No one will know if you are working the new job during the notice period. No one is tracking you. And trust me from personal experience…. These companies do not talk to each other… you could have been working 2 jobs the whole time and VMware would not have known! Broadcom will not know what you are doing. Take the payday.
