Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Those left at Crown

It is amazing to me the people that Crown keeps at the last few lay offs. There are few great people left, but the majority of them are and have always been absolutely terrible at their job. I recently was sent a social media post of a manager that not only kept their job during the mass tower layoff but are also taking the relo package. This person is the absolute epitome of never doing a damn thing but playing golf and apparently shmoozing their boss. Great job, selection committee. You chose yet another person terrible at their job.

Well, the situation, it really su-ks for all involved. I dont have much animosity for my current and former co-workers. And in every company, there are cr-ppy managers. Its who you know. But, I did see a lot of great talent walk out the door. I will be soon following them as my time is coming to a close.

I feel bad for the tower side because of the workload. Its not their fault they were picked to stay. It wasnt best performers they picked, trust me. Most of the time it was due to a business decision on salary. Even before the layoff, there were plenty of managers who were terrible and were DEI hires. These promotions only made Crown worse because you have incompetent middle managers. Well, basically follows what we had in Jay and Lurar.

But to this day, in the July announcement they said cx Servies was being shut down. Owen and all his Directors and people below him should have been let go. Clean house. But they all go reassigned. All managers and their staff kept their jobs while other departments suffered. They should have been the ones let go. some shady stuff that went on for sure. But in my department, there is maybe 2 people who are competent and the rest, including the sr. manager are incompetent.

Welcome to the new crown. Sad to see it go down so quickly since 2020.

Hurtful but true. If you are still at Crown Castle you are more than likely someone’s useful id--t.

@1ayv+1pStqTZN It wasn't always like that - One of our CEOs actually knew everyone's name and was glad to talk to everyone. JB has been the worst so far and the wake of destruction that he has left in this place may be unrepairable.

EMT never had any contact with the real workers. Only the inbred mgmt who took credit for things they didn't do and buried anyone who they felt threatened by. Just disgusting.

So if everyone else is so terrible but still made the cut, what does that say about you?

Time to move on with your life. I’m sure your therapist has told you this many times. I’m also sure they are sick of hearing about it from you.

It's funny how different individuals can have such different perspectives.
Isn't it a bit odd that the one person you referred to (an extremely small minority when the number of employees is considered) becomes "the majority of them" when you make your statement. Maybe that person has become too large in your view.
My experience is that there are many people left (who will be affected in the next many months) who have always performed highly to keep this business successful despite management's best efforts and despite of the cr-ppy systems and processes which are detrimental to their performance.
