Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Typically Citi

This forum really showcases the toxicity in Citi. We are supposed to be here to discuss insights into layoffs across the business. Instead we have s-xists, racists, bigots, judgemental a--holes, and know it alls.

Barely anything productive being discussed.

Go look at other company forums here and they are a lot more organised and productive. Big differences.

It's ok to vent but some of you need to chill. If moderators cleared out posts that weren't relevant there would only be a handful left.

I'm kind of over it all. I hit a point where I as letting all this cr-p stress me out too much. Now I'm just like in whatever mode. It may not be the best way to handle things. However, it's what's working for me.

You want to take your team's great ideas and make them your own or assign them to your buddies so they get recognition. Ok. Do it. Whatever.

A team works their bottom off and you want to give lower ratings to manipulate raises? Fine. Whatever. I'll do average or just a little more than average now.

Let's have a bunch of meetings EVERY WEEK that go no where and 'fun' site activities. Sure. Oops! Shoot I missed it!

Want me to 'add value' and think of the 'big picture'? Ok. The company is running itself in a hole unless it cleans up management (not reshuffling) and stop a bunch of useless $$$$ global trips (Jane & EMTs!!) if we're in an expense freeze.

So what you are saying is DEI is a failure.

But if it’s the truth and experienced by people like me maybe more people need to hear about it before joining such a toxic culture…it doesn’t mean we are racists or bigots or anything else.

People are sharing insights too, not only venting mate. But there is not much to be shared at the moment. I doubt MDs will be posting here about being laid off. And the SVP and below wave of cuts will happen next year, so expect more to come.

Using industry standards one could say that the reorg has failed.

  1. Work has stalled to a crawl
  2. Projects cancelled, pending, delayed, reduced
  3. Lack of meaningful reliable information
  4. Very low employee morale
  5. Nobody trusts anyone
  6. No communication within teams
  7. 100% uncertainty every week
  8. Unclear future beyond 1st Q 2024
  9. Everyone updating resume and trying to exit at 1st opportunity
  10. Stock price stuck in 40s range

The OP is essentially complaining about people complaining.
