Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Does anyone know about cuts in AP TD & Design?

Leadership: "I know as much as you do."

Stress levels are high, and leaders are trying to refocus the TD and Design teams on potential org shifts, but say nothing about the layoffs.

Does anyone know if cuts will happen in those groups?

There is another way to look at this regarding no WARN, as mentioned "quietly laying off" over the last few months. So to avoid the 90 day window.

TD is so understaffed I can’t imagine there will be cuts, but if it’s anything like I’ve heard about what’s happening in design we should expect most people in AP product creation will be shuffled around to different areas… what a fun way to ki-l morale and productivity

The floor I'm on, with a LOT of TD's ran out of TP on Wednesday. I'm pretty sure from everyone stress po----g all day.

TD's are in high demand right now (nationally), so hopefully they are doing the right thing and will re-allocate the talent to open roles. I do know of one TD, who was approached to talk about a lateral move out of a category. It will be unlike the past re-orgs of getting done dirty, where they just move you. Anytime anyone I know interviews, I tell them not to get too attached to their group, since they will move you at will to places you may not want to go.

I'm hopeful this may turn out ok, but it's SUPER cr-ppy to do this to people before the holidays. The stress level and vibe has been horrible, and will continue to be that way until they tell people WTF is going on.

Also, as of today (12/8/2023) there isn't a WARN Act notice filed, so it may not be as bad as the 2020 layoffs.
