We're past the point of trusting leadership, as a result we're stuck with getting information from sites like this. It's unrealistic not expect people to ask the question or reach out to their peers for a glimmer of insight. Communicating mid to late October is beyond vague and honestly cruel. It would have been better not to say anything at all. So saying things like it "stinks" is belittling.
The ONLY official word has been when the VMW leadership team said mid to late October for letters. That means week of 10/23 now. Anything else you are all tossing out there is just spreading more rumors. IF any of this changes, wait for official word. While the waiting stinks, stick to the known facts. Really. Saying “my VP heard from another VP who heard from their dog etc” is just noise.

They were announced for mid to late October.
In US, heard this coming week, but not guaranteed. Nothing was supposed to go out this past week 16th
No offer.
China blocked the deal.
Broadcom will announce it next week.
