Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

woodlands 50 years

The Houston Chronicle in the Sunday edition ran a large article of the 50 years anniversary of The Woodlands. https://digital.olivesoftware.com/olive/odn/houstonchronicle/default.aspx . In my 40 years working in the petroleum industry, I have lived there twice, both times purchased a house. Lived there in 1976 and again in 1989. Great schools everything you need you don't have to drive into Houston. For those Pioneer hands that are selected to move to Houston sounds like you have two years. Think the economy is headed towards a dip so home prices and rates will drop in Houston/Woodlands, keep and eyes and hire a realtor once you know you are going. I will say the comments on Exxon sounds like a performance slog to fit it and optimal performance. remember Exxon is a large corporation that is change it used to be the bastion of conservatism, but no longer. It is beginning to reflect what investors want, the younger employees and even saying the words Climate Change. If you go to work now for Exxon and work 30 years, it will be like a trip westward in the Conestoga wagon a journey and a destination. I think the move will fit the younger generations of Pioneer employees those that survived the previous layoffs and in the 50s, you are almost a protected endangered species "Ho-o Pioneereaus ancientus", think about staying in Dallas.

The supply of homes in The Woodlands is tight and builders are not cutting any deals. Good Luck! I don’t see a home price drop coming only the opposite when the interest finally falls back.
