Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Corruption to the bones

The most toxic place to work for by far. Corruption of morals and the hypocrites are running the show. I am stuck here but if you have means and options, do yourself a favor and leave this miserable place.

i think the biggest issue with Dell compared to other companies is the total abandonment of promotion(s) within the company ranks. The only way they will recognize the talent they have is when the employee has almost 2 feet out of the door.

Analysis of 1.4 million Glassdoor reviews written by US employees found the top five attributes of toxic workplace cultures – the terms that had the biggest negative impact on the website’s five-point scale – to be disrespectful, non-inclusive, unethical, cut-throat and abusive.
Sounds like Dell?

re: "yet it is always voted one of the best places to work"

Sure, best place to work and get laid off for no reason. You are so right about that...

I would say you are correct for most part. Until you are the one to be let go after years of having successful top rank quarters in your team. Yet still let go. You don't have to be an outlier to be let go. Yet all we here is how successful quarters are with revenue every single quarter. Millions or billions in revenue. Yet they let people go to satisfy their shareholders pocketbooks. Team builders and offsites are a thing of the past as they don't even have $10 to spend on each employee from what I was told. Which is ridiculous.

As far as outliers go and unhappiness goes, that is probably misleading. Anyone who has worked at Dell knows the surveys are not anonymous and you can be targeted if you give your honest opinion. Most people don’t read the survey and give top marks across the board to stay off the radar. It is sad and dysfunctional along with soul su-king. So, it is more likely this site is closer to the truth than any Tell Dell

Corrupted morals could be in terms of deceptiveness, entrapment, lying , backstabbing etc without any conscience, regret. This is done to own team member . Done by a mentor. Done by teammate to replace the employee , fully knowing there is a wfr coming up.

Infact the people in power and their cronies actually think lying is needed to be part of their team. The manager will even mention that in teams group chat as if the person wanting to stick to factual numbers is committing a crime.
This is what is meant by corrupted morals, ethics, values...

I do not think it is the post goofiness more than the cognitive ability of the reader. Corrupted morals have nothing to do with capitalism. corruption can simply be nepotism, favoritism and dishonesty. Where people in positions of power or authority abuse their influence to violate moral norms.

A few points. Any "great place to work" BS is paid advertising. Those types of awards mean less than nothing. The companies campaign and it isn't through treating their employees awesome. Second, this post is goofy. What does corruption of morals even mean in a corporate capitalist company. Dell is like any other publicly traded old IT company. HPE, Cisco, VMware, all the same culture and issues.

Delll is a su-ky company. No doubt about that.
Unfortunately they also create su-ky people who cant let go when they are let go.

Most fill this forum with weekly wfr predictions.

Dell pays for that. It’s a terrible company which is why they have such a high turn over rate. Whoever posted this is 100% right. It’s a “who you know” company not a results driven company. It’s driven by HR and marketing. You’ve got the same old people doing the same old stuff.
