Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Cobra question

Does anyone know if you accept cobra now (because the company is still paying a portion thru your severance period, making it close to what you were paying while working) can you drop it if you later find other employment that has their on insurance and benefits?

You can stop paying Cobra at any time. If you find better insurance in the marketplace, get insurance through your new job or get on a spouses plan, whatever. Obviously you don't want to be uninsured but your not obligated to ride cobra out.

Yes, just let them know and don’t make another payment. It’s meant for as a temporary solution.

Absolutely. You are not tied into Cobra contractually.
It's intended as a 'bridge' and in some cases legally required.

Find that good new job and switch insurance when time is right and economical for you.
