For those who have said the next round of layoffs are Nov. 2 (next Thursday) - have you heard who will be impacted? How many? Same format as last time? (i.e. meeting put on calendar quickly by manager, etc)? Are you certain it is Nov 2?

Now I'm curious. Anyone know if GBD Execution going to get trimmed this next round? With how morale is given recent leadership changes, maybe they should just ask for volunteers.
Instead of targeting Aisling's PM organization maybe you should target those that were responsible for winning or I should say not winning GBD business. Take Nebraska Medicaid as an example. Anthem paid millions for that business only to lose it in an RFP rebid less than 2 years later. You can also look at the loss of contracts for Western NY, almost all of Texas StarPlus, Texas Dell Children, BCBSMN, and Kansas for example. How many billions of dollars of revenue was that lost business worth and who is accountable for the losses? Those are the people that should be laid off and not the PMs who simply execute the work.
We need to also look at whoever made the business decision to spend millions on rebranding the company name to Elevance with product names of Anthem and Wellpoint. Changing your name doesn't get rid of a bad reputation. Thinking they should have used that money to fix things that aren't working instead of trying to slap a different color lipstick on a pig.
We could also talk about the disaster of MMM(Puerto Rico) or how much the C staff are significantly overpaid. Think of how much better that money could have been spent.
BTW, GBD didn't lose the BCBSLA business. The merger/acquistion is on hold. https://www.businessreport.com/newsletters/why-critics-oppose-sale-of-blue-cross-and-blue-shield-to-elevance-health
Every company is trying to reset labor costs. Not enough that the head makes 800% more - Going for 1000%.
# Jobs will be similar, but where they are filled and the price will be different.
Don't worry, when Anthem laid my sister in law off from her $20/hr job they GENEROUSLY offered to allow her to re-apply for the same job at a rate of $14/hr. (She told them where they could put that offer and now works in hospitality.)
To Post ID: @4ybc+1pf7UXfs. APEX re-branding is a joke, I've never seen anything so botched.
All of Aisling O’Neill executing dept needs to go- BCBSLA lost and holding on to team not doing work is waste. Apex rebranding also overstaffed w contractors so leads look like they are important when they are poorly executing. Need to get rid of this waste.
GBD and not GBG. Typo on my part.
What is GBG? Are you referencing GBD? MA got hit hard last time, anyone know what area?
If I get the ax, I hope I'm released immediately if I'm still able to receive full pay for the 30 days. Why would anyone want to stick around longer than they have to?
Generally if you are in a leadership position, you are let go immediately. They pay you for the 30 day notice period and then you start severance. Everyone else usually has to work the 30 day notice and then you get severance.
From what I’ve heard it’s going to be similar in the amount of RIFs from last round. It will affect GBG and Commercial lines of business.
@1djb+1pf7UXfs Does this layoff or "workforce optimization" appear to be as big at the one announced in September? 30 day notice or immediate release?
As someone who has associates being laid off, I can tell you it's happening on 11/2.
I haven't heard anything. We had a Town Hall this week and it was crickets At this rate, with the heightened anxiety, all of us should be using our free therapy sessions
People tend to take a "dart board" approach to layoffs on these sites. They tend to guess random Thursdays and speculate if layoffs are going to occur. As a Elevance employee, and someone who follows these sites, historically when layoffs are going to happen you will see multiple posts "foreshadowing " a particular date.
H1B visa quotas may be revised to be unlimited due to essential work:
https://www.natlawreview.com/article/dhs-publishes-proposed-h-1b-regulations
"The proposed rule would expand the definition of employers and H-1B workers that are exempt from the H-1B quota ....
Revise which H-1B beneficiaries may qualify for H-1B cap exemption when they are not directly employed by a qualifying cap-exempt organization but still provide essential work"
Whatever's gonna happen is gonna happen. The names have already been picked out of the hat. No sense in worrying b/c we can't do anything about it.
I think that if layoffs are going to happen it would be 11/2. I would imagine it would be before open enrollment for insurance/benefits the following Monday. I haven’t got any official word from my team/managers on CSBD on cuts. (Not sure if we will).
