Severance Pay Back

Does anyone know how the severance is paid back if you get a role at Cisco after you signed your separation package?

OP, I'm sure HR and/or the recruiter who is working with you can explain it to you if you get the offer.

Frankly, I'm surprised that they're letting you interview in your situation. When I was LR'd in 2016, a manager contacted me about a req he was getting on his team and he asked me to see if HR would let me pay back my (prorated portion) severance in order to lift the blackout date for my rehire and we were told no. Or, at least, it would have taken VP or higher approval and he didn't want to go through the hassle of trying to get that done, so I had to wait another yr before the next opening on his team.

Good luck w/ your interview if that's what you want.

If you're gone longer than the severance was for, you don't pay anything back. e.g. You received 5 months, but have been gone 6 months, you don't owe anything. If you're gone 4 months but paid for 5 months, then you owe them 1 month (1/5th) back. Make sense?

I was apart of the most recent LR and signed my package on August 31. I got all of my severance but have an interview opportunity with Cisco again but unsure how the whole severance pay back works.

Did you get the severance before your last day?

Not specific to Cisco, but IIRC, severance comes 30 days later so if you find a job internally you will never receive the money and the paperwork will just be withdrawn.
