What and how many titles are there at Broadcom?
Anyone with an offer willing to share their current VMW position and the offered one?

Staff converted to RDES 5, US based.
Enjoy your demotion. It will be the first and last title you hold at Broadcom.
That title looks like sh-t on a resume.
At VMware I'm a "Sr. Software Engineer". My Broadcom offer letter lists me as "R&D Engineer Software 4"
Titles don't matter at BC, only that you live in fear and produce profit
Grade bloat is a thing. But i see it differ by team, some teams have years of experience and most are P4s with the odd P5. Other teams absolutely, so many P5/Staffs its unreal.
This is why I'm very curious on the Vmware to Broadcom levels post merger. Just because your a P5/Staff now, does not mean you will automatically moved to a ICB5 or 6. You could be put as a ICB4 as that's what level Broadcom see's that particular role.
And don't forget at Vmware salary ranges overlap. Some P4s will be on higher base than some P5. It will be interesting if Broadcom discuss salary ranges per grade as openly as Vmware do.
I feel like titles in VMW are quite inflated. I can see a lot of teams where all people is Staff I and also others where there are several Staff II.
In theory the Staff title should be already an "elite" title and already a P3 and a P4 should be rock solid technical guys with a lot of years of experience who should contribute a lot, in reality what I often see is the P3 as base, P4 people with some years of experience and a bunch of Staff engineers
As there are over laps.
I do wonder if people will just be downgraded.
Example: P4 overlaps with ICB4 and ICB5. Will P4s be split with the more senior P4s being made ICB5 or will all be made ICB4?
Can anyone who has had an offer confirm there VMWare P grade and what broadcom ICB grade you got?
