Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

NDA is Illegal

I want everyone to be aware that the NDA for severance requirement is illegal. Crown cannot require you to sign an agreement for the severance.

@1bdm. I agree in most cases. However, the company is using this as a way to sway ex-employees into thinking they have no recourse. The company used the layoff to get rid of people who were potential whistleblowers, which is why I am suing them and already have an attorney. They know l, when people are terminated and aren't worried about promotions, the legal floodgates open. If I didn't think they broke federal law, I would have happily left.

I was laid off. I received my severance. Zero issues. One thing to point out is we were or are all At Will Employees.

Crown wasn’t required to give anyone a severance and I feel blessed I received mine.

Quit speculating, su-k it up and plan your next move. Im only posting to hopefully qualm peoples fears about getting paid. There is nothing hiding in there.
I will say that you should not be on here bashing Crown Castle 👑 if you’re expecting to get severance.

Feel lucky you even got a severance.

MANY DO NOT

I think most of the stuff in the agreement is a boilerplate template that they got on Etsy or something... certainly not anything that CC's own legal team put together. I was part of the first round and there were a few things in my document that seemed sketchy but when I googled those particular sentences, other separation agreements came up and it was word for word identical. One of them being a separation agreement for American Eagle Outfitters (clothing store).

I had my attorney look at the severance agreement in September…he said it definitely was not enforceable but the bottom line was do I want the check or not…

Good find. Any former(or soon to be) teammates from the legal department care to research?

I’m sure someone in the T-Bear’s team is dying to do some homework.
