New job offer (USA Market)

While I’m waiting for the decisions here, can I go ahead and sign an offer letter from another company? Is there any restrictions for be working formally for two companies! Not sure with there are legal implications. Thanks

For contracting, you are fine. Don’t update your LinkedIn to indicate you are consulting.

Yeah. I wouldn’t tell anyone, however my concern is related to legal consequences, cause I’ll have W2 and income from another company. I’ll check later my contract to see if there is any specific language.

Thanks to OP and replies. Same quandary here. I thought I did the right thing by starting job search after the all hands. Got an offer for contract work last week. I asked if I could have till 10/31 to answer, expecting the acquisition would be complete, and now it's not!

Might want to go check your employment agreement. While I can't say that there is...a lot of companies, including the last one I worked for, had specific language that strictly prohibited working two jobs like you're saying.

Agree with the previous poster sentiments though: if you have it...go for it...just wouldn't advertise it.

Check your VMware contract for any restrictions.

I’m about to start contract work as I didn’t get a letter. I couldn’t care less what VMware thinks.
