Dear Layoff Site People, after being referred to this site, I popped in now and again to see who’s getting laid off. When I saw a post about my business unit, things started becoming real. I started interviewing outside (a frustrating process), then I got my “move with no relo letter” and a verbal surplus date. The early warning from this site helped me prepare and do my work ahead of time. I’m happy to say that offers (while lower paying) are coming in and this site helped me find a soft patch of grass to land on when T kicks me to the curb.

I just hope people thinking of working here will come to this site and run far far far far away and don't even bother with the garbage company.
Yeah they can do it when you don’t have a contract!! Organize!!
You betcha, that's what we're here for!

"If you leave on your own, they don’t have to pay it"
It's called a voluntary offer or something like that. They basically give an option for employees to volunteer to be laid off, and it comes with full severance or whatever benefits you'd get if you got laid off. I haven't seen then do these for many years. The last time they did, I actually know several guys who took it. Side note, volunteering to be laid off didn't always mean you will be, however. T still decided at the end, and theoretically could refuse it for some people, but everyone that requested it, that I know of, got their wish granted.
Dang Dog, you're welcome, that's what we're here for!
I'm just here to see complaints about Stankey.
They CAN do that!!!
can THEY do that?
lol they know you have 40 years, they’ll wait you out
“
I really would like to see T offer ALL of its employees the opportunity to leave voluntarily with a severance package in hand! They have to pay it our anyways, so it might as well be given to someone that is ready and willing to leave! What a sad state of affairs T executive management got itself in, pathetic mismanagement!”
