Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Correct order should be get all approvals => announce deal close => send out offer letters...

now the order is
send out offer letters => announce deal close "soon" => struggling on getting all approvals

What a mess and what a stupid team!

"Because BRCM has been waiting for 1.5 years, so who knew China would not co-operate?"

They haven't been waiting, they have been meddling with every single deal ever since they announce they wanted to buy. They've been denying special offers, discounts, approving deals and they've had access to a lot of confidential information BEFORE the acquisition and if it doesn't go through... what now? After all of this, customers afraid, fu***d with discounts/prices, after having affected the business... WHAT NOW?

In my humble opinion they should have learned from the Intel and Tower deal that you cannot bully china into approval. https://qz.com/intel-tower-china-us-tech-wars-semiconductors-deal-1850742582 . Chip companies specifically do way too much business in China to ignore the state regulator

SAMR approved the deal. Then China made a u-turn at the last moment. They changed rule. For US companies SAMR needs to consult with Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Now it's blocked because Ministry of foreign affairs is not giving approval.
I don't know why BC or VMware knew this.

Boggles the mind. This has to be a first time in history something like this has happened.

It is interesting to note that our offer letters don't define October 30 as the Closing Date; Closing Date is defined as on or around October 30.

Folks, it is simple. The only think the c-suite cares about are the shareholders , aka Michael Dell and SilverLake. The board of directors are also spineless fücks, they get paid to sit on their a-s and agree with what we the F Dell says.

No one has any incentives to care about the employees, so no one does.

It’s about time folks realized this fundamental truth of mega corps.

Buh bye Hock

I’ve got a great investment deal for him, I have a bridge in Brooklyn…

The final boss is high interest rates and a lack of a rate lock on the $40 billion loan to close the deal and now Hock is looking something like $800 million in additional interest per year.

This process of announcing a deal to basically demolition a company and then pray you get regulatory approva.

It’s a ridiculous process and if this deal doesn’t go through VMware will be left with 40k toxic employees.

And in my opinion please be as toxic as possible and send a message to these corporations who are using employees in some corporate squid games.
