I was laid off just today along with a handful of coworkers.

Not true about no more layoffs until next year. I'm a contractor at USB and just heard about two FTE managers laid off a couple layers above me. My manager's manager and his manager were laid off and many more most likely. I think this happened on Friday, Nov. 10th.

Any month with less that 20 days on it, USB has never RIFd anyone. Every month with more than 20 days, you are at risk. It's part of their circling the drain culture now.

They didn’t announce closures in the East region. What area?

Not true, they announced branch closures in the east region today. Considering there’s a hiring freeze the likely hood of most of them finding an internal position is slim to none.
