Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Laid Off while on PTO.

Worked hard for the company but the main bosss does not even got a good ethic to put last minute meeting on working day. He instead put a meeting request a surprise one not even thinking the employee is on PTO, they may be out/family emergency or so on.
Lost of job, my bonus i should get is gone, the pto hours i saved to take it on november is gone as Optum only pays 40 freakin hours of pay. Holiday time, job gone, health insurance will go after this month- what a shameful that not even giving insurance atleast for few months.

But the uhg ceo said few days back they are in good shape and in profit.
Leadership will all get their big bonuses leaving laid off employees on dark. I hope karma gives you a payback for sure

I’m guessing based on your post that English is not your first language and that you are an offshore employee. No offense by saying that. Welcome to the American style of doing business. I assure you, it’s nothing personal and has nothing to do with your performance or work ethic. These people at the top are slaves to the stock price and care nothing for you as long as they get theirs. Best wishes to you and your family and I hope something better comes along.

Sorry to see this. Some team members do not know that other team members are let go. Many managers are under the same pressure dealing with the current environment. My manager was discussing with me about unethical ways to move people out of my team. The games change every week. Employees going beyond expectations are just meeting expectations. Its a terrible situation for all.

If you still work here, you should be ready for the F F games. Regardless if you’re on PTO, FMLA or approved leave. They just do not care 🤷‍♂️ so just do you and take this job as serious as management takes you, a 2 out of 10. lol

I am so sorry. I was laid off in August, the week I came back from a vacation. It was quite a surprise :-(
