Stop picking up more work

Management keeps cutting jobs because they know some su-kers are going to pick up the work that is left behind by those affected. This happens every single time. Why wouldn't they cut people when everything still gets done with fewer people? They don't give a damn that you have to work evenings, weekends, holidays. If it gets done, they're happy. Just stop it.

I was a mid-level manager. They tried to force more work on me without compensation last year. I questioned the reasonableness of the demand as I had already absorbed 50% more work from 2017-2020 than I had in 2016. It took them a year but I got cut last week. I even have a potential Whistle Blower and EEO case but the Reduction in Force reduces the value of it.
The only way refusing to do more helps anyone is if EVERYONE stands up. That will never happen. Even your unions are laying down right now. I have seen and heard it. So, look out for yourself or have a solid Plan B.

Are there any UP managers w/ any honesty? Everyone of them in private admits there isnt enough man power, but I see ones trying to “rearrange the deck chairs on the titanic”. Do any managers get the difference between being busy and being productive? Whats next when things dont improve? Are they waiting for upper management to be told by the govt that they need more headcount?

No employee respects managers anymore!! Managers have always worked against the employees!! Employees work hard and managers never appreciate it…

I haven't done anything extra for the UP in a long while. I do ONLY what the job requires and leave. No sense in doing more for that place when they clearly want to fire you at the first opportunity, and won't do anything to help you out when you need it. So why help them?
