Any one have any knowledge on Centene as far as employee satisfaction? I know many of us are looking for jobs and I am terrified to trade one he** for another! Any info would be great

Ive interviewed tons of nurses and clinical people from there and have never heard one good thing. I also know they have a lot of layoffs as well and lose contracts a lot therefore nurses are always looking.
Another centene person here. It all depends on what department and who your boss is, but over all it's not sunshine and rainbows here. But I don't know if there is any large health insurer that is doing "great" right now. It seems like all the big insurers the have Medicaid and Medicare LOBs are in major upheaval.
Check Glassdoor for reviews.
Thank you so much for the insight!!! Very helpful and exactly why I posted here
Corporate Centene employee here.
I'd say at present employee morale is at an all-time low. I can't speak for all 86k employees, of course, but for myself, I have one foot out the door and am just sticking it out until I get something else.
We had a full year of mandatory overtime (Sept 2022- Labor Day 2023) with 10 hours most weeks and several mandatory Saturdays. A few weeks after that ended, we were blindsided by a company-wide email about laying off 2,000 employees. They had no intention to tell us of the layoffs if it hadn't leaked.
Everyone is on edge with rumors of more layoffs coming in December. Meanwhile, we are seeing our plans taken over by external agents.
I'd say avoid Centene given the ongoing uncertainty surrounding layoffs.
I would stay far away from Centene. They aren’t much better. I have multiple friends that work as Medicare Reps.
Based on @rxd+1psFzo0y response, I would say Centene is much much better.
So angry down below! You never know who has worked where in health insurance so I thought I’d ask. Ge-z. Also tons of people at Optum/uhc are currently job searching so I felt this was a valid topic to discuss, didn’t meant to pss you off!
100x's better...
Lol all the major health insurers are the same. A race to the bottom. They all follow each other including how they treat employees. Good luck.
Maybe go to a Centene message board and ask? Just an idea. Or just wait for the 'anywhere but here is better' comments. Better yet, go to any business and ask them if their competitor is better. Because if anyone knows about a good steak, it's a vegan. Fu--s sake.
