Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Stankey says

Stankey said the best talent comes from CA because that’s where he’s from. Nowhere can you find someone more capable of placing AT&T into the level of debt that Stankey has done. It requires special level of, well I'm at a loss for words at this point.
Doesn't matter. I'm tired of caring.

The ONLY thing it makes sense to do in California is local operations. Even regional work doesn't need to be done there. Any national level roles can be done much cheaper elsewhere. There are massive talent pools in many other locations just as good as anything in Cali but at 30% lower cost. The sooner we get out the better....

Are you that brainwashed by political commentary that you hear Stankey is from CA and immediately think he’s friends with Schumer from NJ?

FYI that he personally donates to the AT&T PAC and to Republicans: https://www.campaignmoney.com/political/contributions/john-stankey.asp?cycle=16

“ the el segundo town hall made it very clear that at&t has no interest in being in CA past 2024. my morale went from bad to worse after that meeting yesterday. doesn’t matter what we do. writings on the wall. all we can do is look for the next gig while we’re waiting”

What exactly did Stankey say?

stank is typical of att - no talent but never admit you make a mistake. att hasn't done anything except run up the credit card.

garbage company and hope people who are thinking of working there run far far far away.

makes sense though that he is from california. wonder if he is buddies with pelosi and schumar and newsome. his type of people.

I am sure stank has allowed a lot of chinese parts in the telecom equipment.
stank and rand are not people to look up to and pretty much are not even near what I would call men.

No hubs in California long term. It is an employee state and AT&T doesn't want to be bothered.

He would not have shared that same message to the other area of folks!

Too bad he can’t just be “transparent” vs. catering to the audience he is speaking to on that day and time!

What a cluster!

When the music stops (end of 2025), there will only be 2 HUBS (Atlanta or Dallas) for those that don't support retail or a market team. If you are not interested in relocating, use this time to look for a new job.

Wasn't it Randall Stephenson that was at the helm when all the debt was accumulated?
