Thread regarding USAA layoffs

PULSE - Gaming

Leadership is trying to push for Pulse to be moved from monthly to quarterly as if WE asked for that. It’s for their own selfish gain and worry about scores they are proposing this change. Do not go for this it’s for them not us. Another way to shut us up and fatten their bonuses.

I was a Pulse rep until last summer and can say Mgmt never cared about the feedback. It used to be more open on the feedback but then they removed it from our sight and paraphrased/grouped into topics. Then it got to the point where they shortened reviews to smaller and smaller calls with less and less feedback to share among teams. Overall, Pulse is a waste of time anymore as Exe don't care what the worker's have to say.

Pulse is stupid anyway.

Our leaders keep telling us "Pulse isn't for THAT kind of feedback/ problem."

It definitely isn't for voicing concerns about senior leadership - because zero large corporations care what the minions think about the officers.

At the end of the day it seems to me like pulse is there to presumably check some kind of box on a governance scorecard that there is a symbolic but auditable channel for periodic employee feedback. And other than that it seems like it exists to keep middle management busy chasing a meaningless bouncing ball - at least the ones who don't get hand picked for rapid VP treatment. Senior leadership keeps making employees miserable by finding benefits, layoffs, constant stretch goals (piling on work from laid off teammates to the survivors as if its totally manageable), and then they can berate middle management for having low pulse scores, justifying the lack of advancement before finally squeezing them out too. "Your pulse numbers show that you've got an opportunity to develop your leadership skills..."

I am also concerned with the trend of silencing employees. Even if most people didn't reply, it was still a signal. Anticipating replacement with a comment box directly above the trash chute.

Since its ignored by so-called leaders, how about getting rid of it completely?

Monthly frequency? BS

This is ridiculous. Lots of employees have said they do not participate due to the monthly frequency.

It should be done every 100 years, on the same cadence as that stupid fu--ing book.

If management really paid attention to Pulse, plus cared what we think, countless supervisors would have been demoted to grunts like us.
