Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Management layers are overstuffed

Let's be honest, Nike does need a major round of layoffs - but not of the people it has been targeting. We need a major culling among the management. The higher, the better. We have too many people in positions that do nothing to contribute to the bottom line. How come they're still employed?

People who do the actual work are seldom given credit. I hide easter eggs in my powerpoint slides to see who has pirated my work....it's rampant and shameless and ignores the contributions and efforts of those who actually do the heavy lifting. Shame on a few Stanford & IvyLeague MBAs who do nothing but take credit.

During last round of layoffs/promotions, all the layers were promoted in EDA in global tech for doing the same, in some cases less work. RL and EW enabled this. EDA has most incompetent leaders across GT

When you read definitions for director and manager they are similar, heavy duplication at the upper level. the manager role used to be a third workload but now sit in meetings all day, directors write spreadsheets all day for sd and sit in meetings all day, sd sit in meetings all day with sd and vp. Zero support and impact on the workers getting the job done.

I agree there are a lot of teams with senior directors, directors, managers and leads( who basically function the same as a manager) before you even get to individual contributors. Now why do we need 3 levels of people managers when there aren’t individual contributors at each level
