Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

2024 restructuring plan

Here is where we stand:

"We recorded $243 million of restructuring expenses in connection with the 2024 Restructuring Plan in the first half of fiscal 2024 and we expect to incur the majority of the estimated remaining $366 million through the end of fiscal 2025"

Read the SEC filings for all the details.

He will throw you under the bus. He’s just looking for more people to sc--w over. He likes doing that. Tricking people, then throwing them under the bus. He thinks that’s a laugh. Take care of yourselves. He has nothing to give.

Pattern I have observed from forums, internal news and friends from other divisions is, slow small layoffs,(sometime big), across different BU/division at regular intervals.

Layoffs across divisions has a shorter interval, currently its around 1.5 months to 2 months. This may be lower as I might not have all the news about layoffs.

Teams those are recently impacted does not see another one for a longer time yet the cycle repeats at longer intervals. The interval in my team has been around 13 months and most impact in US only, later replaced by cheaper resource elsewhere but never a single replacement in US.

All this is to ensure these number remain small and not highlighted in media. Back in days when there was a massive one, ORCL got a very bad reputation and impacted bottom line significantly. Since then it has been slow small layoffs at regular intervals

I hate to say it, I survived 6-7 layoffs but I have to manage good terms with my boss and work like he-l all the time. Please do not judge me, I have family to take care. am just one of like you. I know lot of good people were let go coz they have their own voice, and were certainly better than me.

I tried to raise my voice diplomatically but failed as others were not supportive, so in a way employees themselves are working against each other by not being united and work towards a better work-life and ethics.

Lots of doom and gloom here, too. I have no idea what will happen next or if anything will happen at all.

Entire CX is in big trouble. Strategy failure, working people taking the burn.

January passed. Did anyone get affected?

couple dozens seems to be laid off in CX RightNow support during January. Seems just to be the end of the sweep started on December from CX Fusion.

If you have hints, that should cause you stress. Time to see your doctor to see if you should go on mental health leave.

If you got hints, most likely you are done. Time to stop working and study full time to get a job faster.

IC’s were sla-ghtered this year. The stacking of middle mgmt is nuts. So many mgrs with one or two directs, reporting up to directors with only five or six directs under them. Over 8 years I have only seen a single manager and director get rif’d and I barely count it as it was the result of an acquisition.

Prepare well in Winter vacation, study open source high value technologies, get the severance, and get a new Job.

Call your friends across different Org's, coz of connection people usually have info about other Orgs. If you are in good terms with your BOSS he would have given you some indication. Usually signs starts pretty early like a month or so prior.

List are prepared, but not finalized. They are longer than usual. However, they have not started to print out the packages.

I've heard a couple of rumours about a January reorg but no details. Can anyone give real information?
