Sorry, you will have to wait, no surplus for the 1st qtr 2024. The checks keep rolling, rolling rolling, Rawhide! Craaaaack!
Please, please, please, lay me off, AT&T! Do me the favor that many of your employees would love to receive and that's a layoff notice on the 15th! If not, I can easily wait until March 15th, 2024 because it's money for nothing!
I was involved in a Merry Christmas layoff several years ago, accepted the only open position in I&R. It was so toxic, had forced OT all the time, work/life balance was horrible, it took me years to finally escape. Now the work has slowed down and a freeze put on OT, I understand the micromanaging hasn’t stopped, bonus and dashboard numbers still have to be met. One of the worst!
Work should pick up this year with fiber projects restarting and more customers having availability. They may have to hire in some orgs, attrition and very few hires in most outside positions. Attrition has reduced some crews to barely operational.
Haha many of us do hope to be surplussed just so we can grab our termination packages and run!
15th will come…
15th will go…
I will still be employed with ATT
Merry Christmas
Happy New Year
Who gives a sh-t
ORAN= Suppliers/Contractor work
I hope to get layoff notice on Dec 15th.
Sadly, it definitely won’t be a love note either!
“ North California construction as well, why this team this time? I thought the O-RAN project will take more construction work in the next three years”
The fiber initiative has the potential to take a huge amount of work out of the old system. Just look at the huge decrease in areas that got the Uverse builds. Not much repair unless it gets cut. Takes 15 minutes to set up WiFi service if it has been extended to the house which basically covers most residential needs. No bs rehab jobs to account for time. Construction, maintenance, etc. That food chain extends pretty far and wide. Not saying copper will be eliminated anytime soon but if they actually accomplish it successfully the 50% elimination target will account for a lot of work content being eliminated. Live in a Frontier area that took over the old Verizon facilities. Don’t see any of their vehicles unless it is a initial installation.
It is AT&T loss
You will do much better with another employer or working for yourself
The job market is strong and there demands for skills you have
No worries
The job market is very strong, it is a new fresh good start, wish you the best
Merry Christmas!
It is all related to the RTO
Centralize the construction and transportation functions with very few people in Dallas or some where else and lay off everyone. Then outsource the jobs to local contractors.
Save money and office space and liabilities
Construction teams can be replaced with contractors
I feel sorry for them but I’m not surprised
“AT&T is quietly cutting hundreds of jobs every week without making headlines”
True, in mobility we see that every week at low level, last month and this month.
My director said, this is not true, we are giving you more training and investing on you
But we see people cut every few week’s reports to the same director

Does construction build SIADs, BBUs and Radios?

The stock value is bad already and can’t afford any more degradation that can reduce its short term loans conditions that pays for salaries and operations

Construction and Transportation?
Is that an ACE group?
