I would def agree that a good possibility is that aml will go to fraud, but i hear the pay grades are worse…

I heard Fraud Ops will be hiring again early next year, and AML folks will be transferring there. I am sure leadership is looking to find everyone a job to prevent mass layoffs and negative publicity.

Aml is at 473 as of today and the dept wants to slim down to 8 analysts per manager. 38x8=304 give or take. Do the math

Without your post, I guess AML employees would have no idea what is happening. Thanks so much for your announcement.

Those of you in AML Operations, it’s really simple: alert rule tuning is massively reducing alert volume. More is coming Less alerts means less people needed. Yes, hundreds of analysts will no longer be needed in the coming months because there is not enough work to keep everyone busy.

That would be an easy lift and shift solution. Those are planned out in advance. Watch your step because that is not considered job elimination but rather weeding out.

A friend of mine in bank AML has been looking internally and externally. There days when it’s a waste of time going into office and there’s very little work or none at all to get assigned. She fears her area will be hit with the 60 day notice sometime in Q1.

All I know is that there are analysts who don't even know what day it is…shouldn’t be that fl difficult to weed them out…

It won't just be AML who needs to watch out. There are many areas of the company that could easily be moved overseas temporarily or contracted to third parties to manage locally. I would be more concerned about being fired before I even thought about layoffs. The write ups will start pouring in right before it happens, as many have already pointed out.
