Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

It's baffling how we welcome and reward incompetence around here

Our club hands out roles like candy to folks who shouldn't be anywhere near those positions. And then everybody is "shocked" when they crash and burn in no time.
I've witnessed this scenario on more than one occasion – someone advancing not because they're a stellar performer, but because they're best friends with the higher-ups or they've mastered the art of getting along with their manager. And it keeps happening. Something is seriously wrong with Sam's if stuff like this is allowed to keep happening.

Wake up. This is how much of the work force operates. Have you not heard that, it's not what you know, it's who you know? It's not just Sam's Club.

Top notch Produce, Bakery, and Meat people now know that the TL position has nothing to do with those depts. About four years ago, these positions turned into just extra, lower paid, bi--hes for the GM. So the top notch people in these areas don't want it. Thus, little kiss-asse$ get promoted, and have no clue on what to hold their people accountable for, so the depts have young punks that know they can get away with anything, and the depts fall apart, and the clueless TL is held responsible. It's been 4 years. If you haven't seen this pattern, you're not paying attention.
