Am I wrong to assume that layoffs will continue immediately in January?

I doubt layoffs will continue in January alone...

If they cut again before the spin, it will feel like they are gutting for something right after the spin and at that point 3M is gone (not that it already isn’t)
If they announce layoffs, I'll send everyday wins points to Gibbons, Patolawala & Roman and ask to be added to the list of cuts.
Do they actually complain about retention? Why would anybody without a pension stay at a company that has had mass layoffs each of the past 5 years, and 7(?) of the past 9?
It’s be surprising if they DIDN'T announce another 3000 person layoff while somehow also crying about poor retention.
