Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

More cooperation rather than cutthroat competition

Who came up with the idea that gladiator fights among employees produce the best results? In my opinion, it is exactly the opposite. More cooperation rather than cutthroat competition would produce better outcomes for all of us. I, for one, know that I would prefer not to look over my shoulder all the time. I would like to trust my coworkers, and have more experienced folks teach us stuff without fear some of us newbies will use that to shoot them down tomorrow. Who, honestly, wants to work in this atmosphere? I do not think I will leave this company with valuable professional experience.

Exxon management doesn't know what the heck it's doing. The VPs, presidents even the management committee talk about increasing collaboration using all those fancy words that mean nothing and then they throw at you the performance assessment where basically you have to ki-l your colleagues to survive one more year. It's so stupld. All managers at Exxon have to be fired and replaced with real managers. What the heck is the board doing? Clean the house dudes.
