Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford Layoffs

https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2024/01/20/layo-j20.html

Any facilities that's related to Ford EV will be cutting. Model E will be down to 1/2 by June of this year. The battery plants in KY and TN are idling. All projects are in limbo. SKI in Atlanta will be laying off more in March. SKI is partnering with Ford to manufacture batteries that Ford no longer need. Best of luck everyone who are in Model E. Doug Field will be leaving soon. He is waiting for an offer.

We are a Tech company now and Model E is the foundation of that. We will continue to grow and strengthen our electrified powertrain offerings. That, along with our subscription services, will lead us on our path of continued greatness.

I agree that layoffs are forthcoming after the huge contracts secured by the UAW. But the layoffs will continue to be in the ICE divisions as we continue to sunset that obsolete technology.

I feel that Model E is, without doubt, the safest place to be within Ford regarding job security.

Ford cut the majority of ICE engineering because you can’t teach an old dog new tricks (Farleys view) and we are heading into an EV evolution. How d-mb you can be? Did Farley get wrong research from planning or did he ignore them? Maybe Block Rock was pulling the strings’ as a majority stock shareholder

Hardly. This minor slow down in BEV mobility is only a result of the recent unfounded media blasts against BEV's in general terms. They have set their sites on BEV for whatever fictitious reasons.

None of these media has even read the Ford+ Plan in detail, and specifically the future growth of the plan. Take articles like this with a pinch of salt, that's all they're good for.

Doug Field isn't going anywhere.
