Makes me laugh every time I do a return. I get my savings coupon and hand it to someone already buying something so they get the discount. I will not spend a dime in that store will just buy more stuff from Amazon but love paying forward and not seeing a good coupon go to waste. Staples strategy can’t beat them but we will take their returns and maybe someone will buy a post it note while doing it and we will give them a discount if they do. Stores are a ghost town most activity is in the Amazon returns area so sad.
No one care about JL and his girlfriend as they do their amazon returns at staples stores
Thank you for the private equity lesson, Captain Obvious. Rhe CEOs that came after the sell have been ineffective and laughable and the SLT equally disappointing. Thankful for this job, please. It’s a paycheck until something better comes along. The disrespect at all levels of this company and the lack of people that actually care about a job well done is at an all time low and it starts at the top.
He’s done his job. If you want to be upset with someone I’d suggest the last couple CEO’s before him when it was public. Sycamore has extracted immense profit from Staples. That’s what private equity does. The previous CEO’s couldn’t figure it out. When you’re bought by private equity it means your leadership basically has no path forward for growth. Sycamore bought Staples and gave a path for at least another 6 years and then some. If JL let Staples spiral into losses none of you would have a job. What do you want? The business isn’t growing. JL is keeping it alive.
He is such a clown.
SP doesn’t care they want the dollars and that’s why they didn’t put a real CEO in after the joke of SD and his incompetent leadership choices. They want a henchman and that’s what they have in place. He is doing exactly what they want. Blaming every leader and continuing the revolving door. Painful to watch.
Probably won't celebrate much.
Sycamore will just replace him with another hack.
Why would they if they haven’t done it yet after how many failed C levels he has put in place and money spent on consultant strategies after consulting strategies with sub par results. He is getting SP paid big bucks and himself as well for the layoffs and the restructures he is getting it done as far as they are concerned.
Prob wont happen
From the very first conference he disrespected so many leaders and associates with his pompous attitude. He could never build a company like Staples was. All he can do is tear companies down, while making a ton of money for the owners and those at the top, while he destroys everyone else. He is doing the job he was hired to do unfortunately and doesn’t have to work. He is very rich and leaving Staples he will not lose a minute of sleep or take any responsibility but karma is real and he clearly is a miserable human being.
No celebration will be enough to replace the damage he has done on this business or the people that work or worked for this company.
