Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Stay bye bye to MAX

I retired a little more than 1 year ago (2022). 2 weeks ago MAX stopped working. 8-12 hours of chat and phone time later, I’m told AT&T retirees no longer benefit from free MAX via their AT&T wireless. No notice, no letter, no email, just poof gone. Yet another reason I will be switching to T-Mobile.

We also get free Apple TV+ in addition to the items mentioned. No taxes, no bogus charges or fees, everything included in one price.

Max and DTV were never part of post retirement benefits. The only perk you get is 30% discount on wireless service. Don’t know about Uverse TV or Internet

MAX s_cks. Since it's inception, I cannot think of one time I ever found anything on it I wanted to watch. I no longer even look. Stankey gutted HBO of talent so they no longer produce interesting shows.

If you change your plan you will lose it, it is grandfathered into plans that had it previously

What are you on about? Everyone with an AT&T phone plan (and I think VZW) gets it for free.

No offense but why are punishment NG the rest of us that are still trying to reach MR75 by pulling your revenue out of our pockets. We didn't do anything to you. Just supported you for the last decade of your career by working extra hours, learning new tech, and letting you load around talking about the good old days of getting paid 10 cents for every text message. Let us have our turn!

You must like cr-p coverage. Verizon's MVNO Visible is awesome.

Max went away long time ago even for active employees! You were lucky!

They always said it is for active employees. You forgot to read the fine lines.

MAX had been an AT&T perk for years, even before the WB purchase. Of course after the sale, the string was expected to be short.

Max has only been a benefit at at for a short period of time. Did you expect it to be a lifetime perk?

T-Mobile will give you free AAA, free Netflix, and soon free Hulu. We switched all 6 of our lines and love the service.
