Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

ZERO RAISE

I did not get a raise for 6 years in a row- is that legal? I know crazy for staying but as a single mom- I needed the security.

"C15s and up don’t get salary increases"
Not true. My friend joined C as C15 in the beginning of 2023 with a very handsome base and just got 2K increase, though negligible to her.
Citi did a pretty good inflation /market adjustment a year ago. Even those who joined in 2022 job hopping frenzy got good increases, so there is no way income brackets remained the same.
Yes, loyalty got punished nowadays, but no increase for years - it's something unheard of (unless it's a company policy , or a strong feeling of its owner).
OP your boss is pointing at the door. Take a hint, get rid of Stockholm syndrome and move. I am pretty sure your position can't be worse (I've been there, done that)

How do we know where we fall in the salary bands? Are these salary ranges for each level posted somewhere?

You can still get increases at the top of the range, the range adjusts up most years, so even if it’s 1% there is still room for a small bump.

Citi has salary max caps sadly. If you are at the top of your range, you get nothing. They will not adjust for cola nor will they raise you even if ppl hired after you came in with a higher offer.

How are salaries indexed? To what? Inflation?

If anyone not happy with zero or low raise or low bonus, they should quit instead of whining.

But they will not leave and stays for 15+ years and keep whining as if they are entitled and at same time keep taking without any real contribution.

That’s not illegal, but it’s unusual. I’ve been at Citi 15 yrs, never didn’t get at least a merit increase, even if its was 1%. Plus a bonus each year.

C15s and up don’t get salary increases and two years ago all salaries got indexed so there is no way unless you’re a director you haven’t received a raise

OP - Can you give a run down of your bonus % over the past 6 years? Negligible base increases without promotion is not that uncommon

I got 1% hike last year and this year no hike and the excuse given was “you have already reached your max range” . They should have promoted me right? BS.
Wait for better opportunity.

Also I have never rated a 4 in all my years here - one year almost 2’s across the board - mostly combinations if 2/3’s entire career. Have been here over 15 years

It is very factual as it has happened to me.

Had horrible bosses thru out the years- was always given an excuse- bad year- you should be grateful you have a job- no $… this year I got 1.2% even though I rated 2/3. Agree not technically illegal- but horrid nonetheless. That and I am in markets.

That's crazy! I have been at Citi for 20 years and I have never heard that. Like a miserable increase yes but no increase at all...never! Your boss is horrible.

What do you mean? Unless you live in a country like Belgium, where companies need to index the salary based on inflation by law, then not getting a raise is very much legal. Quite unfortunate though, you manager su-ks.
