Thread regarding Ford layoffs

I’ve honestly never worked at a place this toxic

Been here for 2 years and I constantly just see everyone fearing for their jobs here. What a horrible mental state of mind to be in tbh. Think there has been at least 2 if not 3 layoffs since I’ve joined here.

My mental health is in the toilet and to make matters worse job market is absolutely trash.

worst decision is to stay at ford too long if you are tech person. nobody outside the auto industry cares about what is going on at ford, sad to say.

@zcb+1qKqGHkz probably the same scientists who think climate change is more dangerous to us than nuclear accidents. carbon dioxide vs. plutonium, i'll take CO2 any day for safety.

Ford is not the worst by a long shot. F'ed up? Yes. The worst? No. I have worked at smaller places that are loads more toxic. Ford is a behemoth organization. There are many ways to dress stuff up and slide blame to another team, ect. You can bet your money that people do it. If you are working for a company you don't believe in then you should quit unless you absolutely have no other alternative. That's how a lot of people act on this board when they post all this doom and gloom about Ford. Think it's toxic? Leave...that is the solution. Can't leave? Then you need to address why you can't (or feel you can't). Most cases it's because you just don't think you have options. You are not going to fix Ford, you have 2 choices really...get numb to it or leave. 2nd option is most of the time always better than the 1st.

It is a scientifically proven fact that diverse teams make better decisions than homogeneous teams.

Have you tried embracing these new changes? Maybe becoming friends with these minority colleagues?

At the very least, you would see things from their perspective and understand the challenges they face every day due to systemic oppression.

This is why I left Ford. It's sad to work at such a toxic place. The moral is at the bottom, no self motivation, no innovation of any kinds, everyone is looking out for themselves and trying to get whatever credit they can get, backstabbing each other, discriminating against white and Asian. Promoting and hiring only black and female. I had enough and I have seen enough. Goodbye Frod.

The job market is not trash. It's been a lot worse. Just save what money you are making and for the love of God don;t buy a new car. Fix the one you have. Leave Ford behind when you can and look at it as a learning experience to something you never want to return to and let everyone that feels trapped there deal with it.
