The only way of innovating from Cisco is new licensing methods to further nickel and dime existing loyal

Cisco should find another tech to replace AI
Well, they had ATM, then MPLS, then SDN, and maybe someday AI with the goal of trying to provide the packet equivalent of dynamic circuit switching where the bandwidth of the circuit can be specified at circuit establishment and possibly at other times while a circuit is still up.
Considering the circuit switched companies at least as of a few years ago couldn't figure out how to establish cross carrier cell calls for what are very low bandwidth HD voice calls coming up with a cross carrier solution could be many technology generations away.
Cisco was developing learning systems to dynamically identify new security threats around a decade and a half ago. A bungee manager came in and tasked them to make a legacy product in a well established market then 18 months later another bungee manager came in and realized a nascent product in a legacy market with one company owning the entire market was a stupid business decision and instead of returning to what was still likely a world leading approach decided to lay off the entire team.
Even in the few cases where Cisco has teams that can develop modern products it doesn't matter if management keeps sc--wing it up, and Cisco's bungee manager mentality has destroyed or at least severely hindered a wide range of critical projects.
We already have. We call it "acquisition"

No shame, parroting something you don’t have.
