Has anyone spoken to an attorney about negotiating the severance agreement? Is there any improvement?

"Your severance package is void if you contact an attorney."
This is patently false. Employers cannot prevent employees from discussing severance agreements with an attorney.
Your severance package is void if you contact an attorney. In the beginning of all the RIF the effected people could have done a class action suit, many were over 50 and RIFd because of their salary and tenure. Take the package and move on, not worth the effort.
Great way to reduce your severance by paying a lawyer.
Unless you have an employment contract, I don’t think negotiating’s a thing.
You would need to have a legal claim against them to have "leverage" to negotiate more. It does not hurt to consult with an employment attorney to have your situation reviewed. However, most will want a consultation fee, and won't even talk to you if they do not think you have a case that is worth their time.
Aren’t attorneys expensive?
Like that WWE says, “Take it!”
Are you serious? Can’t be….lol
