Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Take a minute and look at yourself in the mirror

Where were you 10 years ago? Mentally, healthy and in control of your life? What matters to you most? Family? Money? These are the things everyone should think about. What matters to you most? Stop bashing each other and focus on what you can or cannot control. Stop the negativity. Do what you need to do for you and yours.

@1cau+1qNGWBFu Another pathetic snowflake. This is a harsh world and it will eat you alive once you’re laid off

Ugh be don’t worry be happy? You know repeated rounds of layoffs tends to demoralize people. I agree one should not let it affect one. People are not mentally vested any more is what has come to pass. They treat work like a summer fling knowing it will end soon enough. Is that the culture of success? Nope.

@ bug+1qNGWBFu Who cares if someone uses an app. It’s this kind of negativity that leads to world problems. Happy people don’t put others down. It’s an easy concept. Happy people give off brain wave patterns that can be measured. You optimize for those by meditating and stuff.
Perhaps YOU could use an app like that. Or are you’re just lost in the trees in the forest.

Are you really saying you need a computer algorythm to tell you how happy you are? Does it also tell you when to cry if you go below a treshold? Challenge accepter.

I agree with the behavior in the parking lot. What is this happy app? I have headspace and find I don’t use it.

I think meditation can help. I was using the free subscription to headspace for a while. It helped. I’m using another app that actually measures your happiness level. I’ve been 37% more happy since last October. With a small dip after the layoff talk. But still up!

Very good point. It’s important to stop complaining and be kind to each other. Everyone is so competitive at Nike. Even driving here in the parking garage I’ll notice people speeding because “they can’t possibly be late.” But like we sell shoes. It’s not a hospital where we are saving lives. Take a look at what is important and focus on that.
