Ford undoing stupid decision

Ford is finally undoing their stupid decision to remove AM radio functionality from their EVs. It took the threat of government legislation to force Farley to undo another boneheaded move of his clueless model e leadership.

Of course they have a hardware component. It's called a software defined radio. The hardware lets you receive a wide band of signals and you use software to tune it. Don't want AM? Don't make it available. This is how they're reenabling it via an update.

While I'm sure DF has the idea for EVs dropping AM radio, whose idea was it to do it to there Mustang (not MME)? That idea was quickly reversed, but it was reported.

Just here to double confirm what the previous guy said about it being DFs idea.

I'm not a fan of JF, but let's be VERY CLEAR: removing AM radio was DF idea/request whatever you want to call it. DF even bragged about it in his webcast.

No, radios are not software. They are literally HARDWARE, that's what a radio is. There is actually a physics based reason - the electronics related to EVs causes interference in AM radio reception. It would be expensive to physically mitigate this noise factor
They made a decision based on cost.

Yes, I believe the radios are software defined. You can even buy a USB radio for your PC for under 50 dollars.
