Severance payout?

For those who have been impacted by the Cigna layoffs (I’m sorry!) - can you confirm whether the severance is a lump sump payment or salary continuation for X months?

It is unclear if you can file and collect unemployment benefits while receiving your weekly severance period payout? This is not specific to Cigna and I think the answer is no. Only when your severance payout is over can you file/collect unemployment benefits. Feel free to weigh in if you know more (may be based on what state you are in?).

It is a salary continuation for a certain number of weeks, determined by your band level and years at the company.

Severance is not a lump payout.

The severance policy is posted publicly on Iris. I’d hear there for reliable info instead of an anonymous online forum
