Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

this is not going to be the only round of layoffs

I cannot say where I got this from because doing so may tip off who I'm getting from that they're doing something wrong. there is a reason why uncle greg in his email this morning did not rule out further layoffs. the company is anticipating a higher cost for services and employees into 2025.

YOU CAN BET YOUR A-S THEY ARE LOOKING TO DOWNSIZE AND/OR REPURPOSE THE FIELD. Stations that are automated, in their view, do not need "inside the fence" guys. if you aren't willing to be a multi tech or are too old to learn, say goodbye. it not in this round of layoffs then definitely in the next.

Thank McKinsey Consulting for this. their largest shareholder is also ours (Blackrock).

Not a surprise regarding "help hand over work to others" even though he was being laid off. Some supervisors here will try to squeeze the last drop of blood out of us if they can.

Not that’d I’d put anything past corporations but I highly doubt ops/field will get hit hard. Some areas are already stretched so thin they struggle with manpower for day to day operations. Aging infrastructure, increased load on equipment and lack of downtime to actually perform the maintenance has become an increasing commitment for man hours. Just don’t see how they could cut the workers that keep the actual oil flowing and expect to turn a profit.

Im in IT/TIS LOGISTICS and it's really happening, just signed my NDA this afternoon unfortunately. Can't get into specifics but I'll be handing over tasks and open items over the next 2 weeks and I'll be using my accrued vacation to bridge this gap. Not retirement age but enough to get through the next months with my time served.

Enbridge biggest shareholders: Capital World Investors, Royal Bank Of Canada, Capital International Investors, Caisse De Depot Et Placement Du Quebec, Td Asset Management Inc, Vanguard Group Inc, Bank Of Montreal /can/, Mackenzie Financial Corp, I.g. Investment Management, Ltd., and Capital Research Global Investors .

Go on with some more fear mongering like people don’t know it yet. If you’re gonna ask me I really want to trim down the shared services like SCM. The company will continue to tap into skills of employees, contractors and outsource services where they deemed fit.
